Makers
of the Expansible Dowel Pin
Why should you use
them?
Expansible Dowel Pins are
manufactured to tolerances other methods cannot match, making them less
likely to give problems with automatic or manual insertion. Sizes are strictly
maintained from one run to another.
-
Spiral grooves spread more
glue across their high points helping to create a stronger chemical bond
than any other pin.
-
Expansible Dowel Pins are
chamfered and hand sorted to ensure that the best possible product
is shipped to you.
-
Expansible Dowel Pins are
manufactured from Hard Maple creating a dowel pin with superior shear strength.
-
Heavy racking stresses make
chairs prone to joint failure, The ideal pin to cope with these problems
is the Expansible Dowel Pin.
Joints such as the mortise and
tenon are expensive to machine and can consume a lot of quality lumber
particularly when manufacturing interior or exterior raised panel doors.
For example a 2" exterior door that has 6" stiles, 6" top rail, 12" lock
rail and a 12" bottom rail can take up to 5 board feet of high grade lumber.
Doors made from softwoods won't make strong mortise and tenons joints no
matter how you make them.
When you consider the cost
of repairing loose joints, unplugging automatic machinery not to mention
dissatisfied customers, Expansible Dowel Pins are the least expensive option.
