 Laurier Wood Craft started business in 1979 manufacturing custom furniture and later started manufacturing doweling and Expansible Dowel Pins for use in our own furniture. In 1982 we discontinued furniture, now we only manufacture our Expansible Dowel Pins. Since then we added a dry kiln and sawmill to supply our own lumber needs. The lumber dimensions we require are non standard to the industry, our sizes require less stock removal and more efficient use of the trees.

Our
logs are cut into bolts, then sawn parallel with the bark, leaving any
taper in the low grade heart and a straighter grain in the lumber used
to manufacture our Expansible Dowel Pins. Our logs come from our own bush
and we manage it with the future and ecology in mind. We are
currently looking into forest certification. Comparison strength testing
is also in the works so that you will be able to make a more informed decision
when choosing a dowel pin to suite your needs.
