Pins too tight, splitting your wood? If you left the bag open or keep your pins loose in a drawer they may have picked up moisture. Place them on a clean cookie sheet in a 200 F or 100 C oven for about 15 minutes, keep your eyes on them and keep them well away from the element. When they have cooled, store your pins in a sealed container. This should shrink them from .002" to .004". When manufacturing Ready To Assemble furniture chamfer the edges of the dowel hole. This will help to prevent any glue squeeze out that has dried from interfering with the joint that is assembled later.
